Nevada buys through a central state purchasing office, and its cities, counties and school districts buy on their own as well. To sell to the state you register once as a vendor, then watch for solicitations in your commodity codes and respond by the deadline. This page covers the state registration steps, where bids are posted and the programs that help small businesses, with links to the official pages.

How to register as a Nevada vendor

  1. Go to https://nevadaepro.com and start a new vendor registration with your Tax ID (or SSN), company name and the registering person's email.
  2. Save the email you receive with your Vendor Number; the registration stays In Progress until all six sections are finished.
  3. Complete the Company Information, Administrator, Address, Terms and Categories & Certifications sections (NevadaEPro is self-certified, so answer each category truthfully) and select your commodity codes.
  4. Submit the registration; registered vendors get automatic email notices of solicitations that match their selected commodities and submit responses electronically in NevadaEPro.
  5. Separately register with the Nevada State Controller's Office Vendor Services (https://www.controller.nv.gov/vendor-services/) so you can be paid.

Registration gets you on the state's list, but it rarely sends you every relevant bid. Many agencies, and most local governments, post on their own portals. A free BidsNexus alert watches the state portal and Nevada's local agencies for you and emails the matches each morning.

Federal set-asides work differently from state programs; see our guide to small business set-asides.

Tips specific to Nevada

  • Nevada requires two registrations: NevadaEPro to bid and the State Controller's Office to get paid.
  • In the Address section you can set a separate Bid Mailing Address, which is where all bid notifications are sent.
  • Use an individual email (not a shared inbox) for the account administrator, since passwords are sent there.
  • NevadaEPro help: (775) 684-0176 option 1 or NevadaEPro@admin.nv.gov; clearing browser cache and cookies is the first suggested fix for login problems.
