New Hampshire buys through a central state purchasing office, and its cities, counties and school districts buy on their own as well. To sell to the state you register once as a vendor, then watch for solicitations in your commodity codes and respond by the deadline. This page covers the state registration steps, where bids are posted and the programs that help small businesses, with links to the official pages.

How to register as a New Hampshire vendor

  1. From the DAS Vendor Resource Center page, open the Online Vendor Registration link; a valid email address is required.
  2. If you cannot register online, download the Vendor Application and Alternate W-9 and fax it to (603) 271-2700 or mail it to Bureau of Purchase and Property, 25 Capitol St, Room 102, Concord NH 03301.
  3. Register with the NH Secretary of State if required; a purchase order or contract is only awarded to a vendor registered and in good standing to do business in New Hampshire.
  4. Watch the Bids section of the Bids and Contracts system, where vendors download, complete and submit open bids.
  5. Optionally enroll with the State Treasury for direct deposit (ACH) payments instead of checks.

Registration gets you on the state's list, but it rarely sends you every relevant bid. Many agencies, and most local governments, post on their own portals. A free BidsNexus alert watches the state portal and New Hampshire's local agencies for you and emails the matches each morning.

Tips specific to New Hampshire

  • Vendor obligations are set out in the terms on the back of state Purchase Orders, the Contract Terms and Conditions, the Purchasing Rules Manual and the RSAs, so read them before bidding.
  • Check Secretary of State registration early (603-271-3244), since an award cannot be issued to a vendor that is not in good standing.
