Oklahoma buys through a central state purchasing office, and its cities, counties and school districts buy on their own as well. To sell to the state you register once as a vendor, then watch for solicitations in your commodity codes and respond by the deadline. This page covers the state registration steps, where bids are posted and the programs that help small businesses, with links to the official pages.

How to register as a Oklahoma vendor

  1. Have a current, signed and dated W-9 ready; entities without a U.S. federal tax ID cannot register in e-Supplier.
  2. Go to supplierportal.ok.gov, select Oklahoma Supplier Portal Login, then Register a New Entity or User, and under Supplier or Payee Registration choose Register now (Bidder Registration is an option if you only want to view and respond to solicitations for now; a supplier ID is required for contract award).
  3. Complete the six sections in order: Welcome (entity type), Identifying Information (tax ID, profile questions, W-9 upload), Addresses, Contacts (creates your user ID), Categorization and Submit.
  4. In Categorization, pick at least one UNSPSC category code; your codes decide which bid notifications you receive.
  5. After approval, sign in with the user ID and temporary password from the approval emails, set a new password, and review your registration at least yearly.

Registration gets you on the state's list, but it rarely sends you every relevant bid. Many agencies, and most local governments, post on their own portals. A free BidsNexus alert watches the state portal and Oklahoma's local agencies for you and emails the matches each morning.

Small business and certification programs

Federal set-asides work differently from state programs; see our guide to small business set-asides.

Cities, counties and school districts

Any agency, city, county, educational entity or other political subdivision can order from an Oklahoma statewide contract for any dollar amount without a separate competitive bid, so a statewide contract award can also bring local sales.

Local bids are where most small businesses win their first contracts: smaller dollar values, shorter responses and less competition from national firms. BidsNexus collects them into one list, so you can browse every open Oklahoma bid in one place.

Tips specific to Oklahoma

  • You must be registered at least as a bidder to respond to solicitations and as a supplier to receive an award.
  • Registrations with error messages cannot be saved, so fix errors before saving a draft; drafts are reopened with the registration ID in the form 00000XXXXX.
  • Supplier Assistance Line: 405-521-2930 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST, Monday to Thursday) or OKSuppliers@omes.ok.gov.
